About Homefield advisors

The business is only part of the story.

Family businesses carry something publicly held companies don’t: a family.

Decisions about leadership, ownership, and succession aren’t just business decisions. Family business decisions are personal, with decisions made at the kitchen table as much as the boardroom.

HomeField Advisors was founded to help families navigate that overlap with confidence. We bring an outside, objective perspective to conversations that are hard to have from the inside. We help families build the structures, agreements, and communication habits that let the business, and the family, thrive together.

Every engagement is guided by three commitments: we conduct ourselves professionally, we protect what’s shared with us in confidence, and we go above and beyond what’s expected.

How We Help

Structure around the decisions that matter.

Every family business is different, so engagements are tailored to where your family is today. Most work falls into three areas.

Family Business Governance

A family business without governance runs effectively, until it doesn’t. We help families put structure around the decisions that matter most: how ownership is defined, how leadership is chosen, how family members engage with the business, and how disagreements get resolved before they become divisions.

Together, we build the documents and practices that turn shared understanding into lasting agreement.

Family Meeting Facilitation

Some of the most important conversations a family business will ever have happen in a family meeting, and some of the most difficult. We serve as a neutral, experienced facilitator so every voice is heard, the agenda stays productive, and the conversation moves the family forward.

From the first family gathering to an established family council, we design the agenda, guide the discussion, and help the family leave with clarity and shared next steps.

Advisory and Fiduciary Board Formation

We help families design and build the right oversight structure through an informal advisory board offering outside perspective or a formal fiduciary board.

That includes defining the board’s purpose, identifying the skills and experience the business needs, recruiting independent members who are the right fit, and establishing the meeting cadence, reporting, and evaluation. This structure makes that make the board a lasting asset rather than a formality.
